What is Breaking the Band?
Breaking the Band is an artist development contest for musicians and bands. Winners receive booking and tour support, press consultation, music distribution, radio play, festival opportunities and more.

What are the submission requirements?

How is Breaking the Band different from other contests?
Breaking the Band from We Are Listening is every song contest, licensing, press, booking, touring and festival showcasing opportunity rolled into one. We've pulled every string and all the stops to create an enourmous independent artist campaign with a major label budget. This may be the single, largest investment in your career by an independent music company.

How will I be evaluated?
When you submit for Breaking the Band, we will ask you to enter your website URL and/or alternative URLs such as your MySpace page or Sonicbids EPK. We will use these links to learn about you and listen to several of your songs.

What do I get if I win?
Please check the Prizes page for details.

What if I am already signed?
If you have other contractual obligations, we will work with your business partners to add value to your existing relationship.

How do I take part?
You can enter by clicking on Submit.

Can my music be in any language?
No! Your music must be in English.

When is the submission deadline?
The deadline is the 31st October 2008.

When will the results be announced?
The results will be announced within one month of the deadline.

How much is the submission fee?
The submission fee is £20.

Who reviews the lyrics and decides who wins?
Artists are selected at the discretion of We Are Listening, our opportunity partners and campaign service providers.

If I win, how will I know?
Winners will be contacted directly by We Are Listening by phone or email.

What's expected of me?
We expect you to undertake and promise that your submission represents your own, original work or authorised by the copyright owner.
